After School Programs

TUTORING

Journey Through Faith will offer tutoring to all ages and grades. We will offer this program for individuals who want to excel in their academics. We will help students with resumes and college prep classes. We will help them with proper study skills based on their needs and goals.

We will also help individuals who participate in ESL classes. Some of the topics covered will be reading, writing, spelling, math, history, language and whatever their needs may be to reach their goal.

BARBER SHOP

The Journey Through Faith Barber Shop is a learning barbershop where young men and woman will learn the skills necessary to become a working barber. This specialized program will pair groups of students with a volunteer working barber who will teach the students the fundamentals of barbering and model respectful, honest and responsible work ethics. JTF Barber Shop is a place where you can feel comfortable while learning a trade, getting a hair cut or just waiting for someone being serviced. A place to learn and practice with the hopes of one day putting these skills and behaviors into action in the work place and in their daily lives. This positive environment will give students a sense of peace, comfort and hope! You may come in feeling down but will leave lifted up!

WRESTLING

This program will help children and youth develop inner strength and become mentally focused. They will learn wrestling techniques and exercises for optimal health. By learning through winning and losing, these individuals will develop the mental fortitude to get back up, fight through adversity and finish strong. These experiences will not only help them become physically strong but they will learn to be mentally strong, disciplined, respectful and learn how to maintain their composure in difficult situations.

WELLNESS, NUTRITION AND FITNESS PROGRAM

Through this program, participants will be offered educational workshops focused on whole body wellness for the spirit, soul and body. Participants will learn the health benefits of good nutrition and keeping physically fit, and the effects this can have on the body, mind and spirit. The guidance provided will help participants get in the best condition as possible through exercise and nutrition.
